The title of this two-part work makes explicit reference to figures of speech, although it is not their musical translation.

Part I is made up of more or less long fragments that must be considered as so many " micro variations " each having their own character; these are “  sound plans ” which follow one another abruptly or gently.

Part II is to be played freely, like a cadenza, with a lot of fantasy.
